Art & Illustration
An image is worth a thousand words because it can tell an entire story in a moment. From epic tales, to a single important feeling, illustration allows a peek inside the soul of an artist.

Painting
In a digital world holding a paintbrush feels both foreign and familiar. I greatly enjoy exploring the ways I can use the medium of paint to share my view of the world, and how the medium itself influences my interpretation of it.
Many of my paintings follow a modern impressionist style. I often paint water and clouds, and I use vibrant colors because... honestly I rarely plan to go as bright as I do, but I always manage to surprise myself!
Stories from Kyoto
During my undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, I traveled to Kyoto Japan to study Japanese comic arts or, Manga.
Due to my questionable written Japanese, I set out to tell my stories there with no words. It was 20 years ago and my skills have evolved since then, but I learned a lot about Western vs Eastern storytelling, and traditional comic arts techniques.
This time was immeasurably valuable, and I'm forever grateful for experience.
